Hartford Stage, celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, celebrating its 70th anniversary, collaborated in a production of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford several months ago.
It was a star-studded walk down memory lane at Hartford Stage recently as the 50th anniversary celebration continued. Among the guests at the “Let’s Celebrate” party were former artistic director Mark Lamos.
The Hartford Public Library and The Mark Twain House & Museum recently co-sponsored a program marking the 69th anniversary of the tragic Hartford circus fi re. Featured guests included journalist and author Michael Daly.
Among those who attended the 2013 Connecticut Conference on Tourism Forum at the Connecticut Convention Center were Bruce MacDonald from OpSail (left), John Johnson of the National Coast Guard Museum and First Selectman Paul Formica, from Niantic/East Lyme.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford County held their annual “Opening The Door Gala” at the Connecticut Convention Center. It was a chance for the hundreds who attended to be a kid again—playing games, dressing in costumes and meeting new people—just like the kids at the club do most days.
